In My Project Bag: Ants and Mini Me

Time to see what’s hiding among yarns and hooks in my project bag! ^^

Robber ant amigurumi

First up is this little guy that might be familiar to some of you! He is the amigurumification of Kasey Golden’s Robber Ant! =D

Kasey is an amazing illustrator and one of my favorites on YouTube! I love her style and all her illustrations but my favorites are definitely the ants illustrations!

Mini Me amigurumi

And now is time to update you on the progress of Mini Me 2.0. As you can see the lower part of the body is done! She’s growing slowly but growing! ^^

Can’t wait to have the body done so I can chose her clothes! ^^

This time my crochet project bag isn’t too full but it has two exiting projects that I’m loving working on!

In My Project Bag: Mini Amigurumi and Hats

What new things does my project bag hold? Lets take a look! =)

Crochet cat keychain

I decided to bring together all the ami keychain I made so far in an awesome bundle and add two more little friends to the group! So far you know Mini Peny, Mini Pony and Stitch! Of course I had to add a Kitty but for the last one I'm divided between a racoon and a hegehog! What do you think?

Mini crochet girl

I decided it was time to update my own amigurumi version so I'm making the same body I made for mini Leslie! I also wanted to make a different outfit for myself and want to make it possible to dress and undress so I can change it when I want! =D

Pilot crochet hat

Also in my project bag is the third version of the aviator hat! I'm really liking it how it's coming out and I think this will be the final version! ^^

What's on your project bag?

Off the Hook: Mini Rarefolk Amigurumification Part V

Last but not least to be amigurumified was Leslie, the violin player! =D

Amigurumi girl doll

I wanted Mini Leslie to have more delicate features and wanted her to show off Human Leslie's femininity and elegance!

I thought Leslie's red dress with the tutu was really fun and colorful, making her stand out from the boys, I knew I had to make it! =D

To make her hair I mixed several techniques for making wigs and doll hair and I really really like the result!!! Maybe I'll make a tutorial one day... say yes if you agree! =D

Crochet violin

The violin was challenging to make, it's all so tiny! But in the end I really like it! =)

Mini doll sandals

For her sandals I had to go a different direction, they were too tiny and delicate to crochet! I think they came out really cute! ^^

Amigurumi band

Of course, before they left they threw a special concert live from BuddyRumi's living room! =D

Crochet band

But after they saw the Queen of the Castle House they had to throw yet another spectacular concert!!! =D

Kitty house crochet band

With a very special whiskered star! Rock on Leeloo!!! =D

Leslie Ann Jordan, Rarefolk

Human Leslie in concert!

Leslie was the last of the Rarefolk members to be amigurumified! This was a very challenging project but fun at the same time! I came up with new ways of doing things and improving on old techniques and that's what makes making things from scratch so fun and addicting! That, seeing our projects come to life and, of course, seeing people react to our creations! =D

Thank you to Sardinha de Papel for the opportunity to make this wonderful project! =D

Off the Hook: Mini Rarefolk Amigurumification Part IV

Marcos, the guitar player was my next amigurumification target! =)

Crochet guitar player

Love all the little details on Mini Marcos! The hairdo, the stick in the hair, the earring, and the details in the shirt and pants! =D

Crochet guitar

Marcos' guitar has a sunburst effect that at first I was afraid I would not be able to capture but I think it came out quite good! =D

Crochet boots

This mini ami prefers boots!

Tomorrow the last on the amigurumification list will be revealed! Don't miss it, it's a very special one! =)

Off the Hook: Mini Rarefolk Amigurumification Part III

Next on the amigurumification list: Mangu, the double neck guitar player!

Two arms amigurumi guitar

I had so much fun making his guitar! I ended up coming up with a new way of making them sturdier! =D At first it looked like a cookie, but once I added the details a crochet guitar was born! ^^

Crochet shoes

One more mini ami that likes to keep his feet comfy! =)

Amigurumi guitar player

I really liked adding his piercings but I completlly forgot to take close up pictures of them! *slaps on forehead and shakes head slowly*  He has four earrings on his left ear and one on the right, and a piercing on his nose! =D

Off the Hook: Mini Rarefolk Amigurumification Part II

The second victim of amigurumification was Ruben, the flute player! =D

Crochet flute player

Here he is trying out is flute! Can you hear it? Sounds lovely! =)

Amigurumi kicks

For enduring the long concerts with maximum energy you need to have high quality sneakers! =D

Amigurumi concert

In concert with his fellow mini ami musicians!

This was the first time I made a mini shirt, I think it came out alright!

Ruben Rarefolk

Human Ruben jamming on his flute! =D

Want to know who was my next victim? Don't miss Part III of the amigurumification of Rarefolk! =D

Off the Hook: Mini Rarefolk Amigurumification Part I

These guys have been off the hook for some time now but only now they have met their human counterparts and I can finally show them to you!!! =D

This was a project made in partnership with Sardinha de Papel, a local community store. The band is the spanish band Rarefolk!

Rarefolk mini amigurumi

You already know Oscar, the bass player! He was my first subject of amigurumification! Well, he was feeling lonely and asked me to amigurumify the rest of the band! =D

I said yes to the challenge and the first victim was Rafael, the drummer!

Mini amigurumi drummer

It was so much fun to make him and his drum set! =D

I really wanted to make his drums justice so I tried to add as much detail as I could! =D

Crochet drums
Amigurumi drum set

I tried to replicate all his drums and cymbals and I think it turned out really cool! =D

Crochet drummer and drum set

Here he is trying out his drum set for the first time! =D Will he like it?
