Off the Hook: Mini Rarefolk Amigurumification Part I

These guys have been off the hook for some time now but only now they have met their human counterparts and I can finally show them to you!!! =D

This was a project made in partnership with Sardinha de Papel, a local community store. The band is the spanish band Rarefolk!

Rarefolk mini amigurumi

You already know Oscar, the bass player! He was my first subject of amigurumification! Well, he was feeling lonely and asked me to amigurumify the rest of the band! =D

I said yes to the challenge and the first victim was Rafael, the drummer!

Mini amigurumi drummer

It was so much fun to make him and his drum set! =D

I really wanted to make his drums justice so I tried to add as much detail as I could! =D

Of the Hook: A House in the Forest

One more House in the Forest ready to be enjoyed by a kitty! ^^

This time around I made the birds in pink and purple as asked by Hilary! I also made the house a bit taller and added a zipper to the cover of the cushion, making it easier to clean or wash.

I'm really happy on how the house came out! I hope that Hilary and Meatball (the lucky kitty) will enjoy it as much as I do! =D

In my Project Bag

The Into the Woodland House is almost ready!

Into the woodland pet house

The house itself is done! =)

Mushroom cat bed

The spots are done and sewn in place! The variation that had the most votes was big spots and small spots and that's what I made! Thank you all so much for those who voted! =D

T-shirt yarn mushroom

I added this little detail to the window that I think it makes the house even more whimsical and cute. ^^

I still need to add the lawn and I think I will add another cute detail to the top! ^^

Crochet brain cactus

I have also started working on the second cactus for the Gardening with Crochet II. Can you guess what it is? =)

Off the Hook: Amigurumi Saguaro Cactus

As you may know I started working on the second volume of Gardening with Crochet!

This volume is going to have new cactus and succulents and some fun pots too!

First to be finished was the saguaro cactus! =)

Amigurumi Saguaro cactus

The Saguaro cactus was a custom request and made me think that was time for another Gardening with Crochet bundle! =D

I love receiving requests that challenge my skills and with this one the bent arms were a must! I think it came out well! I really like it and the person who requested it liked it too! =)

I'm already working on the next cactus and having lots of fun doing it! I think you are going to like it! =D

Updated Amigurumi Pattern: Gir with Hood Down

One more amigurumi pattern updated! This time was Gir with Hood Down! =)

Amigurumi Gir with Hood Down

In the previous version of this pattern the head would rotate and move because of the weight of the eyes! I love the doll and its proportions and I din't want to change them, but this was something that always bothered me. Finally I found a solution without changing the doll!

In this new updated version I show you a new way to support the neck and head in such a way that they don't move with the weight of the eyes! The head stays up and the eyes forward! =D

The PDF pattern for the Gir with Hood Down has 20 pages with detailed step by step instructions with pictures to demonstrate assembly or any special techniques.

Off the Hook: Amigurumi Diddlina

After making Diddl, making Diddlina was a must! =D

Diddlina amigurumi doll

I love how she came out! =D

Amigurumi mouse softie

The bow came out really great! Instead of making little circles for her bow, like I did for Minnie's bow, I decided to make little stars which made it easier to make and, I think, even more cute! ^^

Diddlina crochet plush

I didn't resist showing off their super cute little hands again! ^^

What are you working on? Share on BuddyRumi's Facebook page! =)

In My Project Bag

No, I'm not making another amigurumi Diddle. This time I'm making Diddlina! =D

Diddlina crochet

I started with the feet and legs but realized that I hadn't chosen the colors for her clothes yet so I had to stop before joining the legs.

Amigurumi mouse

The body parts are crocheted the same way for Diddl and Diddlina so I started to make the snout before moving on to the clothes.

Amigurumi birds in nest

On the House in the Forest front almost all the pieces are ready. This time I made the birds in pink and purple as requested by the person who is going to get it! =)

House in the forest lawn

Now I'm starting to work on the lawn. I like the lawn to be soft and fluffy so I place t-shirt yarn on all spaces available. This one isn't ready yet and it's very clear that the area where all the spaces are used is much fluffier. =)

What's on your hooks? Share on BuddyRumi's Facebook page!!! =D

Off the Hook: Amigurumi Diddl and Owl Crochet Wallet

This guy was requested by a friend and was a really fun amigurumi project to work on!

I love him! =D

Amigurumi Diddl crochet plush

Although he came out much bigger than I had anticipated at first, I really love him! It was one of those projects where you come up with new ways to do things, all comes together really well and the end result is gorgeous! ^^

Diddl crochet hand

I love his little hands! ^^

I can't wait to make the pattern so you can enjoy him too! Oh and he is not going to be alone!… ^^

Crochet owl wallet

Another crochet project I finished this week was Mr. Owl Buddy Wallet! He is going to be a birthday gift, hope the birthday girl will like him! =)

Have a lovely creative day! =D

In My Project Bag

It's true! I'm working on a new cat house design! =D

Into the Woodland pet house

This time the inspiration came from my childhood when I watched cartoons with woodland animals. I always found their houses in the trees and mushrooms so whimsical and cute! ^^

As a tribute to those cartoons and stories that let my imagination run wild I'm making a pet home in the shape of a mushroom! ^^

I'm working on a new House in the Forest as well! This one is going to a lucky kitty named Meatball! =D

Have more ideas for cute pet houses that you would like to see me do? Let me know! =)

Amigurumi Pattern: Gardening with Crochet

One of my passions, besides crochet and amigurumi is gardening, and in that world I love orchids, succulents and cacti! My orchid collection, while very loved, is small, but my succulent and cacti collection reaches almost 200 specimens!!! So I really had no choice in the matter… this pattern had to be made! =D

Amigurumi cactus and succulents

These cacti are inspired in the Organ Pipe cactus (Pachycereus marginatus), the Pincushion cactus (Mammillaria), the Star cactus (Astrophytum asterias), the Prickly Pear cactus (Opuntia ficus-indica), the Spider cactus (Gymnocalycium horstii), and the Peanut cactus (Echinopsis chamacereus).

Crochet pincushion cactus

They can be used as pincushions or as decoration! They add a fun detail to any part of your home! In your desk, in your kitchen's window sill, on your favorite shelf or among your real plants! =D

These guys don't need sunshine and don't need to be watered, they'll last forever! Perfect for those friends that keep loosing the plants you gift them! =)

Crochet prickly pear pattern

The pattern includes a tutorial on how to attach the cacti to a ceramic or plastic pot, giving the plant an even more realistic look! =)

This PDF pattern has 28 pages with detailed step by step instructions with pictures to demonstrate assembly or any special techniques.
