Off the Hook

Lets see here... what do I have to show you today...

 Lilo and Stitch crochet hat

This cute guy was once again hanging from my hook! I'm preparing a bundlecious pattern for six super cute crochet hats and this guy had to be included! =D

 Polar bear crochet hat

Also included in the bundle of cute hats is this guy! The polar bear is one of my favorite animals, there was no way around it, it had to be made! ^^

 Amigurumi crochet Minion

This poor guy was waiting to be finished for a long time and finally the opportunity came! =)

And now, to the computer to finish all the patterns! =D

Off the Hook: Mini Rarefolk Amigurumification Part V

Last but not least to be amigurumified was Leslie, the violin player! =D

 Amigurumi girl doll

I wanted Mini Leslie to have more delicate features and wanted her to show off Human Leslie's femininity and elegance!

I thought Leslie's red dress with the tutu was really fun and colorful, making her stand out from the boys, I knew I had to make it! =D

To make her hair I mixed several techniques for making wigs and doll hair and I really really like the result!!! Maybe I'll make a tutorial one day... say yes if you agree! =D

 Crochet violin

The violin was challenging to make, it's all so tiny! But in the end I really like it! =)

 Mini doll sandals

For her sandals I had to go a different direction, they were too tiny and delicate to crochet! I think they came out really cute! ^^

 Amigurumi band

Of course, before they left they threw a special concert live from BuddyRumi's living room! =D

 Crochet band

But after they saw the Queen of the Castle House they had to throw yet another spectacular concert!!! =D

 Kitty house crochet band

With a very special whiskered star! Rock on Leeloo!!! =D

Leslie Ann Jordan, Rarefolk

Human Leslie in concert!

Leslie was the last of the Rarefolk members to be amigurumified! This was a very challenging project but fun at the same time! I came up with new ways of doing things and improving on old techniques and that's what makes making things from scratch so fun and addicting! That, seeing our projects come to life and, of course, seeing people react to our creations! =D

Thank you to Sardinha de Papel for the opportunity to make this wonderful project! =D

Off the Hook: Mini Rarefolk Amigurumification Part IV

Marcos, the guitar player was my next amigurumification target! =)

 Crochet guitar player

Love all the little details on Mini Marcos! The hairdo, the stick in the hair, the earring, and the details in the shirt and pants! =D

 Crochet guitar

Marcos' guitar has a sunburst effect that at first I was afraid I would not be able to capture but I think it came out quite good! =D

 Crochet boots

This mini ami prefers boots!

Off the Hook: Mini Rarefolk Amigurumification Part III

Next on the amigurumification list: Mangu, the double neck guitar player!

 Two arms amigurumi guitar

I had so much fun making his guitar! I ended up coming up with a new way of making them sturdier! =D At first it looked like a cookie, but once I added the details a crochet guitar was born! ^^

 Crochet shoes

One more mini ami that likes to keep his feet comfy! =)

 Amigurumi guitar player

I really liked adding his piercings but I completlly forgot to take close up pictures of them! *slaps on forehead and shakes head slowly*  He has four earrings on his left ear and one on the right, and a piercing on his nose! =D

The second victim of amigurumification was Ruben, the flute player! =D

Here he is trying out is flute! Can you hear it? Sounds lovely! =)

 Amigurumi kicks

For enduring the long concerts with maximum energy you need to have high quality sneakers! =D

In concert with his fellow mini ami musicians!

This was the first time I made a mini shirt, I think it came out alright!

Want to know who was my next victim? Don't miss Part III of the amigurumification of Rarefolk! =D

Off the Hook: Mini Rarefolk Amigurumification Part I

These guys have been off the hook for some time now but only now they have met their human counterparts and I can finally show them to you!!! =D

This was a project made in partnership with Sardinha de Papel, a local community store. The band is the spanish band Rarefolk!

 Rarefolk mini amigurumi

You already know Oscar, the bass player! He was my first subject of amigurumification! Well, he was feeling lonely and asked me to amigurumify the rest of the band! =D

I said yes to the challenge and the first victim was Rafael, the drummer!

 Mini amigurumi drummer

It was so much fun to make him and his drum set! =D

I really wanted to make his drums justice so I tried to add as much detail as I could! =D

 Crochet drums
 Amigurumi drum set

I tried to replicate all his drums and cymbals and I think it turned out really cool! =D

Off the Hook: Into the Woodland House

The Into the Woodland House is done and Ferdy is ready to move in! =D

 Crochet cat bed

The lawn was the final touch and I think it came out really cute! ^^

 Amigurumi caterpilar

I promised Ferdy a new home and I think he is happy with this one! He's already checking out the roof! =)

I'm already working on the pattern and I hope to have it ready next month! Ferdy will be included, of course! =D

A House in the Forest

One more House in the Forest ready to be enjoyed by a kitty! ^^

This time around I made the birds in pink and purple as asked by Hilary! I also made the house a bit taller and added a zipper to the cover of the cushion, making it easier to clean or wash.

I'm really happy on how the house came out! I hope that Hilary and Meatball (the lucky kitty) will enjoy it as much as I do! =D

Off the Hook

As you may know I started working on the second volume of Gardening with Crochet!

This volume is going to have new cactus and succulents and some fun pots too!

First to be finished was the saguaro cactus! =)

 Amigurumi Saguaro cactus

The Saguaro cactus was a custom request and made me think that was time for another Gardening with Crochet bundle! =D

I love receiving requests that challenge my skills and with this one the bent arms were a must! I think it came out well! I really like it and the person who requested it liked it too! =)

I'm already working on the next cactus and having lots of fun doing it! I think you are going to like it! =D

Off the Hook

This guy was requested by a friend and was a really fun amigurumi project to work on!

I love him! =D

 Amigurumi Diddl crochet plush

Although he came out much bigger than I had anticipated at first, I really love him! It was one of those projects where you come up with new ways to do things, all comes together really well and the end result is gorgeous! ^^

 Diddl crochet hand

I love his little hands! ^^

I can't wait to make the pattern so you can enjoy him too! Oh and he is not going to be alone!… ^^

 Crochet owl wallet

Another crochet project I finished this week was Mr. Owl Buddy Wallet! He is going to be a birthday gift, hope the birthday girl will like him! =)

Have a lovely creative day! =D

On the Road Pet House

The On the Road House is finished!!! =D

This pet house is inspired in vintage caravan, it has enough room for three cats or three small dogs! It has windows on all sides and a cushion to make our furry friends comfy! ^^

 On the Road vintage caravan

Check out the video to know all the details!

I'm already working on the pattern and I expect it to be ready very soon! =)

Off the Hook: Custom Amigurumi Pony

These guys are the reason I've been MIA these past few weeks!

Custom amigurumi pony and pony keychain

The big pony is inspired in the Shetland Ponies with sweaters, that I'm sure everyone has seen because they are so cute! ^^

They are going to be a gift, I hope the person who requested them and the person who is going to receive them like them! =D

Off the Hook

Hello everyone!

Today I want to show you a great project I have been working on these past few weeks!

Like most of my favorite projects so far it was an amigurumification! =D

Meet Penny, a furry terrier mix cutie! ^^

Photos taken by Penny's mommy, Jennifer.

Photos taken by Penny's mommy, Jennifer.

The pictures above show the main characteristics that I wanted to capture in Penny's amigurumification: her spots and fur. I also tried to be true to her forms and shapes as much as possible, I always like to put as much detail as I can in my amigurumifications.

 Custom amigurumi dog

Jennifer, Penny's mommy, suggested I leave Penny's right ear up! In my first sketch I had both ears folded, but I promptly made the change, and after looking at Penny's many Instagram photos I realized that she has the tendency to leave that ear up, which makes her even more cute and funny. ^^

The collar with the bone and name give her a special touch!

 Custom crochet dog

I'm really pleased with the shapes of the body and legs, especially the chest and belly. It's something that, from the beginning, I knew I had to capture well.

 Amigurumi terrier puppy

The spots on the back were a must!

 Amigurumi crochet doggie

I think she came out really cute and every time I look at her it gets harder and harder to let her go! ^^

This project was fun, challenging and very rewarding! I loved making her, it's one of my favorites this year! =D

Join Penny on the dance floor! =D

Off the Hook

Hello everyone! Let's see what amigurumi and crochet wonders I have ready to show you! ^^

First up is one of my favorite projects I made so far this year! The horse puppet! =D

It was the first time I tried to make an amigurumi horse and the first time I tried to make a puppet! I love challenges and I loved making him!

 Amigurumi horse puppet

I made this little buddy for my nephew, he is two years hold, and he needed a puppet to accompany a music he chose at the kindergarten. He chose a music where a horse is the main character and, like the good aunt that I am, I made him this little buddy! At first he was afraid of him, but now he loves him!!! ^^

 Crochet horse puppet

To play with him we insert the hand on the back of his head, where there's a special compartment, and move his mouth with our fingers.

 Amigurumi puppet

I wanted to give him a really fun look so I made him a wild mane and tail with felt. I love the end result and I love to see my nephew play with him!!! ^^

Secondly I want to show you the new members for the second volume of the Buddy Wallets. After the success of the first volume I decided to make a second one! So far I have three new buddies! =D

 Minion crochet wallet

I love the Minions and they couldn't be left out! I love how he came out! I love the eyes and glasses, and his little pocket in the front!

 Personalized minion crochet wallet

This one I made for a friend that wanted the name of the child on the wallet. I made the name with felt and sew it to the back with the blanket stitch, all wallets can be customized like this one! =)

 Pig crochet wallet

The second addition to the new Buddy Wallets is this sweet piggy, but don't let him fool you, he has a secret...

 Piggy crochet purse

… his nose is very special, it can hold small objects separate from the main pocket!

 Crochet wallet little bird

For the third member I decided to have fun with colors and shapes! I made this sweet buddy with bright tropical colors and for his beak I made a little heart! So cute! ^^

Well, that's all I've got for now!

See you next time everyone! Have a great weekend! =D

Off the Hook

Winter is coming and we, at BuddyRumi's HQ, have been trying out different accessories to warm up!

Inspired by the Neon Love Mitts by Pom Pom Quarterly, I made a crochet hat using the same colours and stitch!

I really like how it came out! It's not too thick, it's fun and the size came out just right! =D

Next I made the Ups and Downs Crochet Slouchy Beanie by Tamara Kelly on Moogly.

I really liked the texture in this hat and the buttons gave a cute touch to it.

This was my first try at a slouchy beanie, I think it came out alright, but next time I would make it a little bit more slouchy. =)

And now that we have the head and hands all warmed up is time for the neck!

I found the Cross-Over Long DC Cowl at Crochet N' Crafts! I love its texture, the little twist it makes and the fact that it is small and close to the neck! The patterns for the matching hat and fingerless gloves are available as well!!! =D

I really love this cowl!!! It's beautiful, and easy and quick to make! Mine came out a little bit smaller than the original one because I work with a tight tension, but I love that it came out smaller! I really like that I don't have to wrap it or adjust it, it just stays there and does its job: Warms my neck and looks pretty!!! ^^

I'm making one more scarf, it's really pretty, but I ran out of yarn... =(  I hope I will have more really soon because I'm really enjoying making it. I'm using the broomstick lace stitch, a stitch I haven't used before and it's easier than I though it would be. I'm using a really pretty yarn that my mother gave me, I can't wait to show you! =)

Have a great week and keep warm!!! ^^

Off the Hook

Now that I finished all the orders I have more time to complete some projects I was working on before.

I started the Ipad cover more or less at the same time I started the cover for my mother's laptop, but I never seemed to find the time to finish it. Now i can proudly announce the cover is finished! =D

Crochet Ipad cover

I really like it! I used one of my favourite stitches, the Tunisian Crochet Knit Stitch!

I finished three cacti for my Gardening with Crochet series.

Crochet Opuntia Cactus

I really like the look of the ceramic vases with the crocheted cacti! ^^

Cacto de crochet.jpg

For this one I chose to make a big and showy flower, different from what I usually make.

I want to make, at least, one more type of cactus and maybe add some other kind of plants, but I'm not sure which ones yet.

I also want to take this time to take on projects made by other designers, to learn new techniques and skills. The first one I'm going to make is Phillip the frog by Lauren Whitney from Crochet, Olé.

And last but not least, I really want to continue to work on the On the Road cat house design!

I think that these should be enough to keep me occupied for some time hehe =)

Have fun everyone! =D
