In My Project Bag: Mini Amigurumi and Hats

What new things does my project bag hold? Lets take a look! =)

 Crochet cat keychain

I decided to bring together all the ami keychain I made so far in an awesome bundle and add two more little friends to the group! So far you know Mini Peny, Mini Pony and Stitch! Of course I had to add a Kitty but for the last one I'm divided between a racoon and a hegehog! What do you think?

 Mini crochet girl

I decided it was time to update my own amigurumi version so I'm making the same body I made for mini Leslie! I also wanted to make a different outfit for myself and want to make it possible to dress and undress so I can change it when I want! =D

 Pilot crochet hat

Also in my project bag is the third version of the aviator hat! I'm really liking it how it's coming out and I think this will be the final version! ^^

What's on your project bag?

In my Project Bag

The Into the Woodland House is almost ready!

 Into the woodland pet house

The house itself is done! =)

 Mushroom cat bed

The spots are done and sewn in place! The variation that had the most votes was big spots and small spots and that's what I made! Thank you all so much for those who voted! =D

 T-shirt yarn mushroom

I added this little detail to the window that I think it makes the house even more whimsical and cute. ^^

I still need to add the lawn and I think I will add another cute detail to the top! ^^

 Crochet brain cactus

I have also started working on the second cactus for the Gardening with Crochet II. Can you guess what it is? =)

In My Project Bag

No, I'm not making another amigurumi Diddle. This time I'm making Diddlina! =D

 Diddlina crochet

I started with the feet and legs but realized that I hadn't chosen the colors for her clothes yet so I had to stop before joining the legs.

 Amigurumi mouse

The body parts are crocheted the same way for Diddl and Diddlina so I started to make the snout before moving on to the clothes.

 Amigurumi birds in nest

On the House in the Forest front almost all the pieces are ready. This time I made the birds in pink and purple as requested by the person who is going to get it! =)

 House in the forest lawn

Now I'm starting to work on the lawn. I like the lawn to be soft and fluffy so I place t-shirt yarn on all spaces available. This one isn't ready yet and it's very clear that the area where all the spaces are used is much fluffier. =)

What's on your hooks? Share on BuddyRumi's Facebook page!!! =D

In My Project Bag

It's true! I'm working on a new cat house design! =D

 Into the Woodland pet house

This time the inspiration came from my childhood when I watched cartoons with woodland animals. I always found their houses in the trees and mushrooms so whimsical and cute! ^^

As a tribute to those cartoons and stories that let my imagination run wild I'm making a pet home in the shape of a mushroom! ^^

I'm working on a new House in the Forest as well! This one is going to a lucky kitty named Meatball! =D

Have more ideas for cute pet houses that you would like to see me do? Let me know! =)

In My Project Bag

Strange noises are coming from inside my project bag… I think it's haunted!!! =P

These past few weeks I've been working on my new crochet project: Buddy Wallets - Spooky Edition.

 Frankenstein crochet wallet

First up had to be Frankenstein, one my favorite ghouls. ^^

First I wanted to make him scary but he just took control of my crocheting and he came out the sweetest Frankenstein ever! I love when this happens, you look at your work and they tell you what they want to look like! =D

 Mummy crochet wallet

Now I'm working on the second spooky buddy, the Mummy. I made him with a off white colored yarn to give him a dirty and weathered look. He's got this crazy eyes that I love but I'm not sure on how to make his mouth… maybe he will tell me… =)

 Vampire crochet wallet

While the Mummy doesn't show me how he want's his mouth, I started on the third buddy. The yarn is a really pale grey that I think will be look great for this eerie buddy's skin! (The photo came out darker.)

Appart from these three guys I already have sketched out three more buddy wallets perfect for Halloween! They'll be available to buy on Etsy and their patterns will be bundled up in a spooky pack on Etsy, Ravelry and Craftsy! I will let you know when they are coming out so you can run… to get them! Hehe =P

In My Project Bag

Hello everyone!

My project bag is bursting at the seams! There's cat beds, amigurumi kitties and doggies, and gardens made of crochet! Let's take a look before it explodes! =)

I'm already in the final stages of the On the Road cat bed.The structure and cushion are finished, I just need to add some cute details and it's done!

 T-shirt yarn cat house

The front has a big door, and windows that your furry buddy can use to see what's going on outside! The On the Road pet house is spacious enough for two kitties or two small dogs.

 Vintage caravan pet bed

The back has three windows. There are windows on the sides as well just like the real vintage caravans!

 Custom amigurumi

This doggie is a custom request! The model is a cute Jack Russel Terrier mix named Penny!

I'm working on the main shapes of the body and latter I will add the spots and fur. I'm really pleased with how she is turning out. ^^

 Minion amigurumi crochet

I started to make the small Minion first, for a keychain, but I realized I didn't have anymore safety eyes for his size, so I decided to make a bigger version while I wait for the small eyes to arrive! =)

 Amigurumi cat

This one is a special project, it is inspired by Leeloo! ^^

I really want to capture the shape of her cheeks and nose, I'm trying out different techniques to see which I one like.

 Amigurumi cactus

After all this, when I have a little bit of extra time, which is almost never,  I experiment with new shapes for my crochet succulent and cacti garden. These are the new shapes I came up with, all inspired by cacti and succulents I have in my own collection. =)

And that's it gang! Better start working because I don't have more space in my project bag(s)! =D

In My Project Bag

Hello everyone! It's time again to show you what I've been working on!

First thing I want to show is the progress I made on the On the Road crochet cat house. I've been working hard on it these last weeks and it's coming together really nice. I'm really loving making it! =D

 Vintage caravan pet cave

The front is already completed and waiting to be assembled.

On the Road t-shirt yarn  house

The back is almost ready, I  just need to make the boarder and finish the support.

 T-shirt yarn cat bed

The rest of the house is composed of a really long piece of t-shirt yarn (the longest I made so far!) that makes up the floor, ceiling and sides of the house.

I love this house and I can't wait to see it finished! =D

The second thing I want to show you are the new Buddy Wallets I'm working on! They will be part of the second volume of the Buddy Wallets crochet patterns! =D

 Pikachu crochet wallet

I'm working on a Pikachu wallet, which is almost completed. I'm not completely happy with his ears, I'll will have to test several models and choose the one I think is the best.

 Crochet purse little bird

The second crochet wallet I'm working on is a little birdie. He is sweet and cute, and I really like him! ^^

I usually use a black zipper for the crochet wallets but I think this little guy will be really cute with a soft yellow zipper. =)

And that's all for now, gang! ; )

Keep on crafting!!!

In My Project Bag

Here is a quick update on what I'm up to! =)

I'm still working on more crocheted plants for  the Gardening with Crochet  patterns.

Crochet flower ball

This time I wanted to make something with more colour so I'm working on a ball of flowers that will be later added to a vase. Similar to the basil bush I made for the Popular Saints celebrations but with flowers.

Now that the cold and rain seem to finally have arrived, I started to get more requests for crochet hats. I'm also taking this opportunity to finish the patterns for all the models I've already created.

I'm also working on updated versions of the Kitty Kat House pattern, the Gir with Hood Down and Robot Gir patterns.

For the Kitty Kat House I changed the way that the wires are incorporated into the body of the house, and for the Girs I updated the way to reinforce their necks. These updated versions of the patterns will be available soon! =)

And last but not least:

I always like to learn new techniques to make my buddies even more special so I started to experiment with needle sculpt to give them more detail.

Needle sculpting crochet doll

I can't wait to incorporate this techniques in my buddies! =D

What are you up to?

A New Cat House Design

Creating new designs for cat houses is becoming addicting! It's so fun!!! =D

I began to work on this new design in April but I had to pause it because some requests for other projects came through and I had to work on them.

I'm not entirely sure, now, how the idea for this design came to me but I remember this image of a cute vintage trailer with a kitty peaking through the window appearing in my mind, right then I knew I had to make it!

Vintage caravan pet house

The basic shape of the front of the trailer is done. Just before I had to pause it, I was working on how to reinforce it so that the house can stand.

I still need to figure out some details, I want the house to have wheels like a real trailer but that means that the bottom would be off of the ground so I have to figure out a way to make the bottom strong enough to hold the weight of the cats, and a way for the cat to go inside the house without having to jump.

This is exactly why I find creating new designs so appealing and fun, figuring out how to solve all these little problems and creating new fun products! It's like solving a puzzle and I always loved those! =D

Can't wait to get back to it!!!

In My Project Bag

Lets start with the projects I finished last week!

Kitty Cat Crochet Hat

The kitty cat hat was requested by a friend and was inspired on the face of the Kitty Kat House.

I think he is really cute and with some minor changes he would make a cute bunny hat as well! =D

Amigurumi Gir and Gir with hood down

These two guys are already on the way to their new home! Can't wait to hear from their new owners! ^^

Blue Monster

The blue monster  is coming along great! I made his little horns and now I'm working on his tail.

He is the cutest! ^^

Kitty Army

The keychain kitties keep multiplying and now I have an army of kitties to finish! =D

What treasures hang from you hook?

In My Project Bag

These past weeks I've been really busy with requests and new projects! Let's take a peek inside my project bag and see what it holds!

Bunny Buns

First up, the Linguine Bunnybuns... from outer space!, as you can see I couldn't resist making one more! Three's a party, right? =D

Cute Monster

I've made some progress on the little monster I'm working on. I'm not sure about the tummy I had made for him, so I'll leave that part for the end.

I think he's turning out to be a cutie! ^^

Kitty Cat Crochet Hat

This kitty cat hat was requested as a gift for a little baby girl! ^^

The nose is not the final nose, it's just a little piece of cardstock so I can visualise the face of the kitty better. The real nose is going to be sewn on! =)

Kitty Keychain

The same person that requested the kitty hat also requested some Kitty Got my Key keychains! We got a real kitty cat lover here! ; )

I just finished Gir and Gir with Hood Down! They will be on the way to their new owners latter this week! =D

I'm also working on a super secret project that is going to be a gift so I can't show it just yet! =)

My project bag is bursting through the seams! What do you have in yours? =D

In My Project Bag

Welcome to the new home of BuddyRumi!

Have you had the chance to look around? I'll wait! What do you think? Do you like it? =)

Ooooh I feel so fancy writing in my new website! =D

Today is time to share what's new in my project bag!

First I'm very happy to report that I finally caught the little creatures that were spying on me! =)

I had no reason to be scared they are the cutest little space creatures that I ever saw!

Caught them by surprise studying earth's flora:

Bunny Buns

Love their little tails!

These little cuties are the Linguine Bunnybuns...From outer space! created by Wayuki.

They are easy, fun to make and free! Check them out!

Cutest Amigurumi Monster

Can you tell I love this blue? ^^

I'm working on a little cutie of my own. I realised I didn't make a little monster yet, so I decided to change that! =)

At first I thought I would make is belly in white and orange, but now I'm thinking in substituting the orange with pink...Will have to make both and choose... =)

And that's it for today!

As always feel free to leave your comments or questions below!

In my Project Bag

Hello hello awesome crafty people! =D

Today I can finally show you the rest of the projects I have finished. They have been delivered! =)

First, is a second take on the aviator hat.

Baby Aviator Hat Felt.jpg

It was requested by a couple that is expecting a baby boy! ^^

For this aviator hat I made the goggles in felt, and instead of making the straps that go to the back like the first one, I made straps attached to the ears of the hat that can be tied under the chin. I think this one also came out really cute! What's your favorite version?

I also completed the helmet hat. It was a birthday gift! =D

Helmet Crochet Hat.jpg

I think it came out pretty cool! What do you think? =D

I'm also starting another Kitty Kat House, this one will be a little bit more colourful. And I'm also working on a Gir and a Gir with the Hood Down that was requested.

What do you have hanging from your hooks?

In my Project Bag

Hello crafty friends! =D

Today I'm showing you what I managed to finish these last weeks!

I finished the bunny I was making for a friend, she already received so I can finally show it to you!

My friend was very happy with it, she's expecting her first baby boy and she asked me to make this bunny for him! ^^

I hope he likes it too!!! ^^

Bunny and Little Bunny.jpg

I also made some new little keychain buddies! ^^

They were inspired by the little white bunny that the bunny I made for my friend is holding.

Coelhinhos e ratinho.jpg

First I made it with yarn of the same weight, but decided to try them out with a light weight yarn too and they came out really cute! ^^

And with some minor changes I also made a little mouse!

These little buddies will be available as a free pattern very soon! =D

And last but not least, I made a Big Eyes crochet hat for my nephew! He celebrated his first birthday the past week, and I, as a very proud auntie, had to make him a gift! ^^

Baby Blue Big Eyes Crochet Hat.jpg

I've also finished the helmet crochet hat and a second take on the aviator hat but I know they have not been seen by the people they are going to, so I have to show you those ones next time! ;)

What beauties are you working on? Show me! =D

In my Project Bag

Hi crafty friends!!!

Another week has passed and is time once again to show you what I've been up to! =)

Little Bunny 2.jpg

The bunny is beginning to take shape. I'm not entirely happy with the shape of the body, I think I'll end up making it a little bit more rounded.

Helmet Crochet Hat.jpg

I'm working on a crochet helmet. I'm really happy with how it's coming along, but unfortunately I've ran out of yarn so this project has to wait a few more days to be completed.

Kitty Kat House Base.jpg

And, of course, I've started working on yet another Kitty Kat House! =)

What are you working on? Share the links to your projects on the comments below! =D

In my Project Bag

Hello crafty friends! =D

I've been working on some new projects! Let's check them out!

For some time now I've been wanting to make some fingerless mittens for me, but I never got around to it.

That changed when I found the Neon Love Mitts at Pom Pom Quarterly. I imiediatly fell in love with them and knew that these were the ones! Cherry on top of the cake: It's a free pattern!!! =D
